River Cree Weiss Medical Facility

The River Cree Weiss Medical Centre represents a groundbreaking healthcare initiative designed to deliver high-quality, innovative surgical services to the Edmonton community, with a strong emphasis on supporting underserved Indigenous populations, including members of the Enoch Cree Nation. The facility will provide essential healthcare services to both public patients under Alberta Health & Wellness and private patients, addressing critical gaps in care while significantly reducing surgical wait times.

The Level 2 Surgical Suite includes a comprehensive range of functional areas, such as open preparation and recovery spaces featuring distinctive curved ceiling elements, fully equipped operating rooms, private patient rooms for overnight care, consultation and procedure rooms, and centralized nursing stations.

The project carefully balances the incorporation of warm, natural design elements with the stringent sterile and operational requirements of a modern surgical facility. In doing so, it establishes a new benchmark for culturally inclusive, patient-centered healthcare delivery.
